Vin Medicare Hanoi

Responsible for the award-winning design success of Bumrungrad International Hospital's latest interiors in Bangkok, world-class architecture and interior design firm dwp was also awarded the prestigious Vin-Medicare Hospital project in Hanoi, a joint project with VK (Belgium).

Vin-Medicare Hospital is a 58,000-sq.m, 500-bed private healthcare facility, owned and operated by VinGroup, set to significantly improve the availability and quality of healthcare services in Hanoi. dwp's challenge was to design a hospital that would maximise staff efficiencies and attract the best healthcare staff from Vietnam and around the region. dwp devised well-organised spaces, to maximise efficiency of staff and usage of medical equipment, as well as reduce overall costs.

The design brief, in combination with functional, state-of-the-art European hospital planning by VK (joint designer), called for five inter-linked buildings. As a result, the design approach is driven by 'The Five Elements Theory', i.e. the interaction and relationships between phenomena. dwp designed the hospital, based on functional, modular and sustainable planning principles, which provide a framework to the activities in and around the building. The five elements occur in the application of external glazing, interior finishes, furniture, artwork, specialist lighting, hardscape and the selection of indigenous plant species.

dwp's architectural and interior design themes, in combination with functionality, have elevated this facility to a vibrant and unique healthcare institution appropriate for a major city.
