Pan Pacific KLIA, Malaysia

International architecture and interior design firm dwp were requested to create the interiors of the guestrooms, corridors and lift areas of the Pan Pacific Hotel at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, as well as handle project management, with a focus on cutting edge technology.

The client desired a classic, yet contemporary, business airport hotel look and feel. dwp chose a dark timber base, with warm and vibrant orange accents, combining the latest guestroom and lighting technology.

The overall effect is a warm, comfortable and inviting ambience, with an emphasis on relaxation and a high degree of practical functionality. dwp sought to ensure, since this was a refurbishment project, to incorporate the results from a detailed study on how the space works within the hotel, without need to modify M&E, and to maintain cost-effectiveness.

To the client's delight, the new design successful improved both aesthetics and function of the room space, in particular in bathrooms, maximising useable space, increasing ease of maintenance and optimizing design and room features, with notable benefits for both guests and staff.
