Suzhou Mixed-Use Competition
International architecture and interior design firm dwp dwp china won another masterplan/architecture competition project, namely the coveted 'Suzhou Mixed-Use Competition' - a fee paid limited competition. The project site is 8000MU (or over 1330 acres).

The project size is 859,000sqm, consisting of 3 hotels, a village centre retail area with marina, indoor recreation complex, serviced apartments, senior housing, a clubhouse, villas, an 18-hole golf course, eco-education museum, greenhouses, an indoor/outdoor waterpark, a love park and wedding chapel, as well as a 4km linear waterfront promenade.

This is a canal village much the same way the Suzhou ancient city once was. The project objectives are to be a zero-carbon-footprint and self-sustaining resort community and to produce its own energy needs using wind, solar and geothermal systems. All private vehicles will park in 3 perimetre parking lots, while electric trams and golf carts will be provisioned for the internal circulation system.
