Lorna Killara, Sydney

Lorne Killara is a 40-unit residential project of two and three bedroom homes developed by Fraser Greencliff and designed by dwp|suters to appeal to empty nesters who have been accustomed to living in a large house and garden. These are apartments in name only; the spacious layout is like a luxurious family home. Their minimal shared walls are designed to maximise the enjoyment of privacy and natural light.

The design, conceived by Alexander Tzannes & Associates and developed by dwp|suters, is a series of pods that wrap around a large internal courtyard. Finishes are chosen to reflect a natural landscape with timbers, stone and a colour palette reminiscent of the existing treed environment. The five storey building has two basement carpark levels. Structurally and materially Lorne Killara offers ecologically smart solutions. Topographically, the building is sensitively integrated into the bush setting for a lifestyle that's far from ordinary.
