Design & Projects Project Manager Reports To Project Director (or designated supervisor indicated in dwp organization chart)
Position Description
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects. This role involves managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risks, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Project Manager works closely with design teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Specify relevant field Interior Design, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline. * Minimum Specify years, e.g., 5-7 years of experience in project management within the design and construction industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. * Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Proficiency in Google Workspace. * Proficiency in project management software. * Understanding design and construction processes. * Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry best practices. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, including potential AI applications.
Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Initiation * Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders. * Develop project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. * Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
2. Project Execution and Monitoring * Manage the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to the project plan. * Coordinate and communicate with project team members, consultants, and contractors. * Monitor project progress, track milestones, and identify potential delays or issues. * Implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track. * Manage project changes and variations.
3. Budget and Cost Control * Track project costs and ensure that projects are delivered within budget. * Review and approve project invoices and expenses. * Prepare financial reports for clients and senior management.
4. Communication and Reporting * Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any concerns. * Prepare and distribute project status reports. * Facilitate project meetings and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
5. Quality Assurance * Ensure that all project deliverables meet dwp's quality standards and client requirements. * Implement and maintain quality control processes.
6. Risk Management * Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. * Develop contingency plans to address potential issues.
7. Administration * Prepare and maintain records * Maintain a register of all variations
8. Technology and Innovation * Explore and utilize project management software and other tools to enhance project efficiency and communication. * Stay informed about new technologies, including potential AI applications, that could benefit project delivery. * Collaborate with relevant staff to implement AI tools for project tasks.
